Cru­saders ad­vance to play­offs

The boys hockey team from Char-Lan DHS fin­ished the SDGAA hockey league reg­u­lar sea­son sched­ule just one point be­hind first­place St. Joseph’s.

At the fi­nale, played Feb. 20 in Long Sault, An­drew Dixon, of the Cru­saders, tipped a Lachlan McDonell shot, for Char-Lan’s only goal, in a 1-0 vic­tory over the Pan­thers.

Char-Lan’s other match on the day went into the books of­fi­cially as an 8-3 win over Tagwi, as dif­fer­en­tial is lim­ited to five goals. How­ever, scor­ing for the vic­tors were Kurt Alexan­der (3), Dixon (2), Sea­mus O’Con­nell (2), Dono­van Fran­cis, and Connor Mac­don­ald. The War­riors also dou­bled North Dun­das, 6-3. Tagwi goal scor­ers be­tween the two games in­cluded An­drew Doyon, Ja­cob Nolan, Noe­lan Spink, and Nolan Macmil­lan.

In other re­sults, Holy Trin­ity edged Se­away 1-0 and was blanked 3-0 by North Dun­das.

La Ci­tadelle pounded Se­away 6-1 and fell to St. Joseph’s 3-2.
