Last week, Kieran Craig, who hails from Alexandria and skates for the Gatineau Olympiques, and South Glengarry’s Roddie Sandilands, a member of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, collided on the ice in QMJHL action, in Gatineau, with friends and family members there to cheer them on.

The Olympiques won, 4-1, as Sandilands says, “It was a tough game for us,” but he adds that it was “special when you have lots of loved ones there to watch.”

On playing against someone else from the county, Craig notes, “it’s pretty cool.”

Craig, a rookie forward, has 12 points and 25 penalty minutes, in 54 games this season, while Sandilands, a second- year defenceman has 2 points and 6 PIM in 13 games, after being traded from Shawinigan.
