Jobless rate up
The regional unemployment rate continued to increase last month, according to Statistics Canada. The rate of 7 per cent is higher than the 6.9 per cent rate at the beginning of February, and higher than the January rate of 6.3 per cent. It is also higher than the March, 2018 rate of 6.6 per cent. The figures are for a region that encompasses Stormont, Dundas, Glengarry, Prescott, Russell, Frontenac, Lanark, Leeds and Grenville and Renfrew.
