Cry­baby Cup helps hos­pice

The 2019 edi­tion of the Cry­baby Cup men’s recre­ational hockey tour­na­ment raised $600 that will be go­ing to the Corn­wall hos­pice.

Held on March 23 in Maxville, the day­long event fea­tured six teams vy­ing for cash prizes, whilst sup­port­ing the cause.

In the ‘A’ fi­nal that capped off the day, the Week­end War­riors de­feated Deke and Squeak.

The ‘B’ fi­nal saw the host AJK High­land Trav­ellers douse the Flames, while in the ‘C’ fi­nal, the Moose Heads beat Pound Town.

The Maxville Li­ons Club co-hosted, serv­ing up a buf­fet break­fast

The Li­ons Club and AJK ex­press their thanks to all who sup­ported the break­fast and the hockey tour­na­ment.

Brad Quaile, one of the AJK team mem­bers, says the club con­tin­ues to raise funds on be­half of Maxville’s Bobby MacLeod, “who is hav­ing a tough bat­tle with can­cer.”

The Cry­baby Cup is held an­nu­ally, mark­ing the end to the hockey sea­son in Maxville.
