$100 K Club grows

The num­ber of area pub­lic employees in the area re­ceiv­ing $100,000 or more con­tin­ued to rise in 2018, ac­cord­ing to the On­tario Min­istry of Finance.

Near the top of the list was Martin Lavigne, busi­ness su­per­in­ten­dent and trea­surer with Le Con­seil sco­laire de dis­trict catholique de l’Est on­tarien, who was paid $377,250.

Among the top earn­ers again last year was Dr. Paul Roume­li­o­tis, med­i­cal of­fi­cer of health and chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer of the Eastern On­tario Health Unit, who was paid $333,953, com­pared to $327,371 in 2017.

Hos­pi­tal and school board of­fi­cials dom­i­nated the $100 K list in this re­gion.

At the Up­per Canada Dis­trict School Board, top earn­ers in­cluded di­rec­tor Stephen Sliwa, $237,783, su­per­in­ten­dents Timothy Mills, Jeremy Hobbs and David Coombs, $173,481 and su­per­in­ten­dent Jodie Bar­rett, $173,043.

At the Catholic Dis­trict School Board of Eastern On­tario, di­rec­tor John Cameron was paid $230,098; as­so­ciate di­rec­tor Bon­nie Norton, $242,681; su­per­in­ten­dent Natalie Cameron, $175,386; su­per­in­ten­dent Donaleen Hawes $170,589.

At Le Con­seil des écoles publiques de l'Est de l'On­tario, the top money mak­ers were di­rec­tor Edith Du­mont, $229,089; su­per­in­ten­dent Stéphane Va­chon, $224,474; su­per­in­ten­dent Jean-Pierre Dufour, $231,685; su­per­in­ten­dent Ann Ma­honey $213,122.

At Le Con­seil sco­laire de dis­trict catholique de l'est on­tarien, some of the big money mak­ers were di­rec­tor François Turpin, $247,704; su­per­in­ten­dent Alain Mar­tel, $283,958; su­per­in­ten­dent France La­marche, $288,378; su­per­in­ten­dent Lyne Racine, $255,887.

At the Chil­dren's Aid So­ci­ety of Stor­mont, Dun­das and Glen­garry, ex­ec­u­tive di­rec­tor Rachel Daigneault was paid $177,814, while qual­ity as­sur­ance man­ager Natalie Fou­quette re­ceived $125,221 and ser­vice man­ager Kim­berly Gill $117,101.


In North Glen­garry, CAO Sarah Huskin­son was paid $119,906 and pub­lic works di­rec­tor Ryan Mor­ton $106,995.

In South Glen­garry, when he was CAO, Bryan Brown was paid $136,556. Gen­eral man­ager of in­fra­struc­ture ser­vices Ewen Mac­Don­ald got $107,332 and com­mu­nity ser­vices man­ager Joanne Ha­ley $107,225.

At the united coun­ties of Stor­mont-Dun­dasGlen­garry, the list in­cluded CAO Timothy Simp­son, $174,498; Ben­jamin De Haan, di­rec­tor of trans­porta­tion and plan­ning, $144,999; trea­surer Vanessa Met­calfe, $144,999; man­ager of op­er­a­tions Trevor Baker was paid $100,776, He­len Thom­son, clerk, $100,144.

In North Stor­mont, trea­surer Catherine Borelly-Vin­cent was paid $103,288.

Stor­mont-Dun­das-South Glen­garry MPP Jim McDonell was paid $124,976.


At the Eastern On­tario Health Unit, mak­ing the list were Pa­tri­cia Gauley, di­rec­tor of health promotion and preven­tion, $149,936; Ni­cole Laplante, di­rec­tor of health promotion, $161,037; Frank Spag­nolo, di­rec­tor of finance, $138,816; Thérèse Bour­geois, di­rec­tor, cor­po­rate ser­vices, $130,521. At Hôpi­tal Glen­garry Me­mo­rial Hos­pi­tal, the list in­cluded: For­mer CEO Linda Mor­row, $117,717; Linda Ram­say, Chief Fi­nan­cial Of­fi­cer, $113,548; Kim Woods, VP Clin­i­cal Ser­vices, $103,490. At Winch­ester Dis­trict Me­mo­rial Hos­pi­tal, the $100 K Club mem­bers in­cluded: Michelle Blouin, Chief Fi­nan­cial Of­fi­cer, $161,460; CEO Cholly Boland, $245,083; Lynn Hall, VP, Clin­i­cal Ser­vices, $161,460.
