Prowlers cut down Cedars

The se­nior ‘A’ Corn­wall Prowlers hockey team took to the ice last Sun­day for an ex­hi­bi­tion con­test with the Mon­treal-based Cedars, pre­vail­ing 8-4. Alexan­dria’s Pierre-Luc Sabourin scored twice. Jesse Fontaine, of Mart­in­town, also par­tic­i­pated in the game, but Maxville Adam Wensink was side­lined due to in­jury.

The Cedars, of the Lebanese Ice Hockey Fed­er­a­tion, are a newly formed group that is con­sid­er­ing play­ing in the re­gion’s se­nior ‘A’ hockey league sched­uled to be­gin play this fall. Among the other po­ten­tial teams are Ak­we­sasne and Van­kleek Hill.
