The At­lantic cruised to a de­ci­sive vic­tory in open­ing night ac­tion of the Alexan­dria Ladies Ball Hockey League, spank­ing the Blue Bel­las 8-1, on the strength of five goals from Tammy MacSweyn, two by An­gele Beau­clair, and one from Brit­tany Ma­cLen­nan. The Bel­las’ lone marker was tal­lied by Théka Oete­laar.

The other April 25 con­test was a much closer af­fair, as Mc­Don­ald Elec­tric edged Gi­ant Tiger 1-0, on a goal from Laine Mac­Donell, as­sisted by Barb Ben­ton and Je­nay Morin.

The league’s other two teams, Mol­son and Howes Farm Equip­ment, had the night off.
