Demand for coworking

The Glengarry News - - Health, Beauty, Fitness, Nutrition -

“The feasibility study determined that coworking and collaboration spaces are a key cog in the economic wheel of an economy and having an innovation hub is needed to keep the competitive advantage of Cornwall, Akwesasne, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry.”

That is the conclusion of a project undertaken by Cornwall and the Counties Community Futures Development Corporation (CCFDC). “There is definitely an appetite for a co-working space in this region, but it isn't something that can be forced. We need to simply provide the right elements to make it viable and let the organic growth happen over time. This study identifies where best to plant the seed and what variety of seed to plant. It is our hope that over time deep roots will grab hold and blossoms will emerge,” says CCFDC executive director Lesley Thompson. “This feasibility study proves that Cornwall and area needs a co-working space to help startups and that is our intent here at the Innovation Centre. We will be working to ensure this data is used to establish a true co-working area for startups and small businesses alike. This will only help us move in the right direction, and assist in creating a needed atmosphere of entrepreneurship throughout the region,” adds Eric Bergeron, Executive Director of the Innovation Centre.
