De­vel­op­ing a River Rap­port

As part of the Great River Rap­port, the St. Lawrence River In­sti­tute hosts a Com­mu­nity Sci­ence Day May 29 and 30 at the On­tario Power Gen­er­a­tion Vis­i­tor Cen­tre in Corn­wall.

At 10 a.m. May 29, key­note speaker El­iz­a­beth Hen­dricks, Vice-Pres­i­dent of the Na­tional Fresh­wa­ter Pro­gram at WWFCanada, one of Canada’s old­est con­ser­va­tion or­ga­ni­za­tions, will ad­dress the meet­ing.

F. Henry Lick­ers, Direc­tor of the Mo­hawk Coun­cil of Ak­we­sasne, Depart­ment of the En­vi­ron­ment for the past 32 years and now the En­vi­ron­men­tal Sci­ence Of­fi­cer, will speak at 10:30 a.m. May 30.

The Great River Rap­port is seek­ing in­put from all sci­en­tists and data hold­ers for the Up­per St. Lawrence River re­gion (from Cape Vin­cent/Kingston to Lake St. Fran­cis). The work­shop is in­tended to pro­duce a sum­mary of the eco­log­i­cal re­search datasets that ex­ist for the re­gion and to iden­tify rep­re­sen­ta­tive eco­log­i­cal in­di­ca­tors for The Great River Rap­port.
