Alzheimers Walk nets $7K

Nearly 100 peo­ple at­tended the an­nual Walk for Alzheimers at the Tim Hor­tons Dome in Alexan­dria on Sunday, raising just over $7,000 in the process.

Fol­low­ing a brief open­ing cer­e­mony that was at­tended by North Glen­garry Mayor Jamie Mac­Don­ald and Glen­garry-Prescott-Rus­sell MP Francis Drouin, as well as rep­re­sen­ta­tives from the Alzheimer So­ci­ety of Corn­wall and Dis­trict, the walk­ers took to the track for about 45 min­utes of walk­ing. In the mean­time, the in­side of the track played host to a num­ber of chil­dren’s ac­tiv­i­ties in­clud­ing in­door soc­cer, in­flat­able struc­tures, and Sparky the Fire Dog.

This year’s event ti­tle spon­sor was IG Wealth Man­age­ment.

The Walk for Alzheimers took place at the Tim Hor­tons Dome in Alexan­dria on Sunday af­ter­noon.
