Sexual assault charges
A 48-year-old South Stormont man has been charged with five counts of sexual assault, four counts of sexual exploitation, and two counts of assault on June 6 after an investigation in South Glengarry revealed that he had allegedly touched in a sexual manner several young females known to him.
The suspect, whose name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the alleged victims, is scheduled to appear in Alexandria court on July 10.
A 40-year-old North Glengarry man was arrested following a break-in at a South Glengarry residence on June 4, reports the Stormont- Dundas- Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police detachment.
Lorne Thaw faces one count each of being unlawfully in a dwelling house; trespassing at night; mischief under $5,000; uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm; and intimidation of a justice system participant.
The latter two charges were laid after the suspect allegedly threatened police officers after being apprehended at the scene.
He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall bail court.
The SD&G OPP charged a 39year-old Ottawa man with several offences following a traffic stop on Dominion Street in Alexandria on June 4.
Jason Groleau was charged with driving while disqualified, driving while under suspension, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, driving a motor vehicle without a currently validated permit, and driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available.
He is scheduled to appear in Alexandria court on July 10.
The Cornwall Community Police Service charged a 19-yearold Lancaster woman with possession of methamphetamine and breach of recognizance for possessing drugs on June 5.
Sydney Taylor-Lauzon was held in Cornwall court pending a bail hearing.
