Early softball success

The Glengarry News - - Sports in the Glens - - Steven Warburton

The Char-Lan District High School girls softball team mounted an impressive effort in its debut tournament on Thursday, winning two games before losing to St. Joseph’s in the finals.

Earlier that day, Char-Lan defeated St. Lawrence 18-11 and Seaway 19-9 in the six-team tournament at Reg Campbell Park in Cornwall. They put up a valiant effort against St. Joe’s but finally succumbed by a score of 11-2.

Team co-manager Chantal Armstrong says she’s proud of the girls, most of whom were first time ball players, and that she hopes the team will be back next year.
