Rev. Gary Stokes, now living in Kingston, was the guest minister. He previously served the St. Lawrence Pastoral charge over a period of 17 years and, during that time, was also an active member of the Cemetery Committee. He referred to being at Salem as “coming home.” A highlight was when Rev. Gary, Salem Music Director, Paul Baine and guest soloist, Janet Harris-Timms performed as a trio for a special music offering. Following the Heritage Service, everyone walked outside into the cemetery accompanie­d by Steve MacDougal on the pipes and Cemetery Committee member, Al Cooper on the drums. In the beautiful, historic setting under blue skies, Walter MacLean, the Chair of the Cemetery Committee, presented his remarks and Sheila Casgrain read the names of those Social notes Congratula­tions to Terry and Darlene Sloan, who celebrated their 25th anniversar­y with family and friends last Saturday evening at The Bonnie Glen.
