Jacob Traynor, who honed his skills with the Glengarry minor football program, has been awarded a scholarship by the University of Ottawa, one year before he graduates from high school.
“They love his technique, speed and marks,” says his proud father, Bernie.
An offensive lineman, Jacob, currently in grade 11 at Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute, has maintained a 93 per cent average. He began playing football as a Gael at the age of seven.
The athletics department of the U of O recently confirmed that Jacob would receive a scholarship for the 2020-2021 academic year. The formal signing will be held in the fall.
