Man charged in saw theft
A 50-year-old North Glengarry man has been charged with theft after a chainsaw was stolen June 11 from a North Glengarry business.
John Andrew Johnstone, who also faces a charge of driving while prohibited, is to appear in Alexandria August 14.
Weapon used to damage home
The Stormont-Dundas-Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police detachment has charged a 57-yearold South Glengarry man after a weapon was used to damage a home in April. Daniel Leeson, who was arrested June 18, has been charged with mischief, disguise with intent, criminal harassment and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.
June 18, at 4:47 a.m., SDG OPP officers responded to a report of an alarm at a business on County Road 43 in Monkland. Investigation indicated that sometime shortly prior to the call to police, culprits entered a business and removed a large amount of tobacco products.
The SDG OPP detachment is investigating the recent theft of an ATV from a business on Hay Road in South Glengarry. The green 2000 Yamaha YFM400, was taken sometime in mid-June.
A 23-year-old Scarborough woman was charged with street racing/stunt driving on June 20 after being clocked at a speed of 161 km/h in a posted 100 km/h zone in Highway 401 in South Glengarry.
A 17-year-old from North Glengarry is to appear in Alexandria court August 14 to face a charge of break and enter. The arrest was made after officers responded to a June 10 report of a break-in at a business in North Glengarry, where electronics had been stolen.
