Hugo Boulanger, 29, of St. Polycarpe, Que., was charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and break and enter following an altercation with another man at a residence on Industrial Boulevard in Alexandria July 13.
Mr. Boulanger was arrested by the Stormont-Dundas-Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police detachment after allegedly breaking into the other man’s residence at 9 a.m., and striking him with a weapon.
According to police, the suspect and the victim, who was transported to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, know each other. Following his arrest, Mr. Boulanger was held in custody pending a bail appearance in Cornwall court.
South Glengarry incident
Alexandre Jean Seguin, 18, of South Glengarry, was charged with assault causing bodily harm June 23. He is scheduled to appear in Alexandria court August 14.
The SD&G OPP charged Charlie Fritzer, 20, of Casselman with driving a motor vehicle without a valid permit, and street racing/stunt driving following a traffic stop on Highway 417 in North Glengarry in the early morning hours of June 24.
The Cornwall Community Police Service charged a 22-year-old Martintown man with three counts of breach of probation on July 8 after he allegedly contacted and confronted his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend at her residence. The name of the suspect, who is scheduled to appear in court on August 8, was not released as it could potentially identify the alleged victim.
Cornwall police arrested Joshua Ushinahua, 34, of Summerstown, on July 3 on the strength of an outstanding warrant. Mr. Ushinahua allegedly failed to appear at the police station for fingerprinting on March 11, leading to the issuing of the warrant for his arrest. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 30.
