Glengarry chamber choir in the works

The Glengarry News - - Straight Talk -

Can you sing? If so, Heather MacIntosh wants you to audition for the Glengarry Chamber Choir she hopes to form this fall.

Contact her at heathermacin[email protected] or at 613-347-2794 if you are interested in the joining the group that would begin rehearsals in September and stage its first concert in January.

“Choirs are a lot of fun,” says the psychologist who lives in North Lancaster. “It’s really cool,” she adds.

Auditions are open to anyone over the age of 16. But there is a caveat. “This is not for beginners,” says Ms. MacIntosh, while stressing that “auditions will not be terrifying.”

The ensemble will sing a mix of contemporary pieces, both a capella and to piano accompaniment, using “legally bought” music.

The new group will fill a void, observes the director. “There is no Glengarry County community choir.”
