Updated strategic plan expected for August
BY SCOTT CARMICHAEL
Staff South Glengarry’s updated strategic plan is slated to be ready for council’s approval in time for the next regular meeting on August 6.
Township clerk Kelli Campeau presented a draft revised copy of the existing during the July 15 council session, for information and review purposes, advising council that they should submit any feedback on the revamped document within the next two weeks.
“Take a look through it. Take some time reading it. If you have any comments or suggestions, I’ve put the date of July 26 on there, to get back to me (by then) and let me know,” said Mrs. Campeau.
“If I don’t hear anything major by then, I will bring forward a final version to be officially adopted by council. And then once we’ve adopted that revised plan, we’ll begin developing those action plans (discussed previously).”
Mrs. Campeau made some minor revisions in the existing strategic plan following a two-day (June 22 and 23) session involving council and township staff members in Morrisburg. The draft revised
contains the identical five strategic goals “...to focus on and accomplish this term” as its predecessor.
They are: enhancing economic growth and prosperity; investing in municipal infrastructure and its sustainability; strengthening the effectiveness and efficiency of the township’s organization (staff, use of staff space, etc.); improving the quality of life in the community; and improving external and internal communications.
