Have your say on water fees
North Glengarry residents have until 1 p.m. today (August 14) if they want to object to proposed increases in user fees slated to go into effect next year.
Anyone who wishes to address council at its meeting August 22 is required to submit a written submission no later than 1 p.m. August 14 to the township.
User fees will rise by an average of 1.62 per cent between 2019 and 2020 under a proposal that was presented to council in July.
Water rates in Alexandria and Glen Robertson are to rise from $61.33 to $65.54 for the first 15 cubic metres while Alexandria sewage rates will increase from $33.46 to $35.29 for the first 15 cubic metres.
The flat rate in Maxville for sewage service will rise from $33.46 to $35.29.
Since 2015, the overall rates for recreational and public works services have increased by a total of 6.77 per cent, an average of 1.35 per cent per year over a five-year period.
