A Life Well Lived We re­gret to an­nounce the pass­ing of David John Ge­orge French. At age 75, David passed away peace­fully in the pres­ence of his chil­dren, sweet­heart and a close friend on Sun­day, De­cem­ber 2, 2018 at the Kingston Gen­eral Hos­pi­tal, fol­low­ing a long coura­geous bat­tle with cancer. Hav­ing grown up in Hamilton, David then stud­ied as an elec­tri­cal engi­neer and pro­ceeded to be­come a patent lawyer. He went on to build a bril­liant ca­reer in the world of in­ven­tions. He had an in­sa­tiable cu­rios­ity, a pas­sion­ate in­tel­lect, a tal­ent for chal­leng­ing ideas, and never ceased to marvel at the world and it’s sci­ence. David en­joyed meet­ing peo­ple of all walks of life and will con­tinue to in­spire those he has touched. He will lov­ingly be re­mem­bered by his chil­dren, Alexan­dre (Kate) and Geneviève (Alexan­dre); his grand­chil­dren, Cléothilde, Si­mon, Élisa and Clo­vis; his sis­ter, Sherry and her hus­band, Paul; his beloved Bar­bara, and so many won­der­ful friends, in­clud­ing his for­mer wife, Michèle.
