Sur­rounded by fam­ily, Bob passed away peace­fully and gen­tly at Markham Stouf­fville Hos­pi­tal, De­cem­ber 2, 2018. Hus­band, Fa­ther, Grand­fa­ther, Brother, Un­cle, Friend, Col­league, Teacher, and Coach.

Bob is sur­vived by, and lives on in, his chil­dren, A. Robert T. Pem­ber­ton (Lori A. Reeve) and Lori L. Tin­dall (Ted Tin­dall); his pre­cious grand­chil­dren, Me­gan M. Tin­dall (Spencer Scott) and Con­nor J. T. Pem­ber­ton; his brother, John T. Pem­ber­ton (Prim­rose Pem­ber­ton); sis­ter, Deb­o­rah W. T. Law (Dou­glas Law); and their ex­tended fam­i­lies. He was pre­de­ceased by his lov­ing wife, Carol Joyce Pem­ber­ton (nee Nor­ton).

Bob will be re­mem­bered for his cu­rios­ity, sharp mind, in­tegrity, warped sense of hu­mour, big heart and home full of hospi­tal­ity by his Earl Haig mates, col­leagues from Grif­fiths Lab­o­ra­to­ries, for­mer staff and stu­dents at St. An­drew’s Junior High School, neigh­bours, friends and ador­ing fam­ily. The fam­ily ex­tends their heart­felt thanks to all the health care team mem­bers at Sun­ny­brook Health Sci­ences Cen­tre and Markham Stouf­fville Hos­pi­tal for the tremen­dous care they pro­vided over the past sev­eral weeks. A cel­e­bra­tion of Bob’s life will be hosted by the fam­ily at DixonGar­land Fu­neral Home, 166 Main Street North, Markham, on Fri­day, De­cem­ber 14th from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Please bring your best me­mories and sto­ries to share. Af­ter a pe­riod of heal­ing, the fam­ily will hold a pri­vate in­ter­ment cer­e­mony. In lieu of flow­ers, do­na­tions to the Ju­ve­nile Di­a­betes Re­search Foun­da­tion or a char­ity of your choice would be greatly ap­pre­ci­ated.
