Died peace­fully at Sis­ters of St. Joseph Res­i­dence, 2 O’Con­nor Drive, Toronto, On­tario on Fri­day, No­vem­ber 9, 2018 in the 61st year of her re­li­gious life.

She was pre­de­ceased by her par­ents, Frank and Alma Dwyer, her sis­ter Mary Eliz­a­beth (Betty) and her brothers James, John, and Don­ald.

Sis­ter Dorothy is lov­ingly re­mem­bered by her brother- in­law Don, his three chil­dren and many nieces and neph­ews. After work­ing a num­ber of years, Sis­ter Dorothy en­tered the Sis­ters of St. Joseph of Toronto as a grad­u­ate of St. Michael’s Hos­pi­tal School of Nurs­ing (class of 1948). She lived the motto of St. Michael’s, “What­so­ever you do to the least among you, you do to me.” Matthew 25.

Sis­ter Dorothy was a gifted nurse al­ways ready to serve the pa­tient as the “dear neigh­bour.” She used her ad­min­is­tra­tive and man­age­ment skills wher­ever they were needed: Emer­gency Care, In­ten­sive Care, Gen­eral Surgery, Ob­stet­rics and Gyne­col­ogy and Dis­charge Plan­ning. Fol­low­ing fur­ther stud­ies in Pas­toral Care, Sis­ter Dorothy min­is­tered to peo­ple in parishes in Toronto, ON and Chilli­wack, BC. Re­cently, Sis­ter Dorothy resided at St. Joseph’s Care Cen­tre. As her health de­clined she prayed for the needs of the poor and the home­less in our city. Vis­i­ta­tion will take place at the Sis­ters of St. Joseph Res­i­dence 2 O’Con­nor Drive, Toronto, ON Mon­day, No­vem­ber 12, 2018, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. with a Prayer Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Chris­tian Burial will be cel­e­brated on Tues­day, No­vem­ber 13, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. In the Chapel at 2 O’Con­nor Drive, Toronto, On­tario. In­ter­ment at Holy Cross Ceme­tery
