Goderich Toyota donates $10,000 to Recreation Park Project
The Goderich Recreation Park fundraising campaign continues to exceed expectations thanks, in part, to a generous $10,000 donation from Goderich Toyota. Established in 1977, Goderich Toyota has grown to become a premier Toyota dealer in Huron County. Originally founded by the Strickland family, the dealership was acquired by The Humberview Group in 2012 and has continued to expand its reach into Goderich and the surrounding area. General Manager, Pat Barnes, was on hand to present the dealership’s donation to members of the Recreation Park Committee.
“It is a rare opportunity when a community project comes along that allows a company like Goderich Toyota to directly impact the wellbeing of our community not only now, but for years to come. The Goderich Recreational Park Project is one of those opportunities. Goderich Toyota and our employees are happy to do our part, in supporting this committee and our community’s investment in our local youth and family.”
Revitalization Committee Chair, Leah Noel, says the committee is pleased that the community continues to support the fundraising campaign.
“We are now a year into fundraising and people are still excited about supporting the park. Our local business leaders have been incredible, and we are thrilled with the success of the campaign.“
Work at the site is well underway: the park’s pavilion has been erected and work at the three ball diamonds is nearing completion with the soccer pitch, skate park and playground next on the agenda.
