On Saturday, Aug. 25 and Sunday, Aug. 26, The Goderich Bridge Club sponsored its Second Annual Duplicate Bridge Card Tournament at the Columbus Hall in Goderich.

Approximately 200 bridge players vied for the Pairs Championship on Saturday and the Team Championship on Sunday. Attendees came from as far as Toronto, Peterborough, Port Elgin, Kitchener, London, Windsor and even Michigan (USA) to name a few places.

The event boosted Goderich tourism and helped the local restaurant and hotel industries. The players enjoyed the Goderich hospitality and looked forward to a return visit next year.

The Tournament Chair Maria Deaves of London, said that Goderich is the home of excellent bridge players and that this competition attracted some world-class competitors.
