Show some love for Lake Huron
Love Your Greats Day is held every year to celebrate and show appreciation for the Great Lakes. This is a day for people to get out outside, walk along the beach, go for a paddle, or do something else dedicated to showing some love for these incredible natural resources. All volunteers are welcome to join the Love Your Greats Day shoreline cleanup, which is happening on Saturday, September 15 from 10 AM to 12 PM.
Volunteers can register for the cleanup at Pavilion #2 — across from Beach Street Station. It is encouraged to bring your own gloves, bags and litter pickers and be ready to sweep the coast one last time before the Winter weather gets here!
In honour of Love Your Greats Day, 360 Bikes ‘n Boards will be donating $10 from every paddleboard rental on September 15 to the Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation to help fund projects protecting the Lake Huron shoreline. “The Great Lakes are so important - on a global scale, but also for everyone and everything that lives here. It’s vital that we care for the places we love and we would be honoured & grateful to have you join us on the 15th of September to help protect our shared backyard” says Jen Pate, co-founder of Love Yours Greats.
Love Your Greats Day will be celebrated in Goderich by some local organizations including Love Your Greats, Rotaract Club of Goderich, 360 Bikes ‘n Boards, Engage Goderich and the Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation. Love Your Greats is a diverse initiative raising awareness and inspiring real change for the future health of the Great Lakes and global waterways.
