A gaggle of volunteers gathered together in Victoria Park last Saturday morning to work towards prepping the outdoor ice rinks. Organized by Trevor Bazinet. Everyone braved the wet weather, including Lori Rounds who dropped off cooks, muffins and butter tarts. Lunch was prepared and supplied by Pete Wick from West Street Willy’s. A great number of volunteers were youth getting involved in their community. According to Bazinet, the following businesses have contacted him to sponsor the rinks this year: West Harbour Insurance, Cravings, Hyundai of Goderich, TD Canada Trust, Gardiner’s, Bruinsma Excavating, Shanahan’s Quality Meats, Happy Mac, CleanFreak, Goderich Landscaping and Brock Dykxhoorn. See page 30 for more photos of volunteers prepping the outdoor rinks.
