Huron County Crime Stoppers December Report
Huron County Crime Stoppers and the Huron County OPP are asking for your assistance in solving the following:
* Rash of ongoing mischiefs to community mailboxes in various locations throughout the region. The unknown suspects gain entry to the mailboxes by prying open the master locks and, in some cases, gain entry to multiple mailboxes at one time. Mail including parcels are the target.
* Theft of tires and rims from a business storage location in Centralia. Suspects attended the storage location and gained entry by prying off plywood siding. In one case, there were 12 sets of tires left outside for collection by suspects at a later time.
* Theft of snowmobile and trailer. Sometime between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 25 2018, unknown suspects attended a Winthrop Road address, Central Huron and stole an enclosed trailer with a snowmobile inside. They have since been recovered in a gravel pit near Parr line.
* Theft of a commercial grade log splitter from a Walton business. On Monday, Nov. 19, 2018 at approximately 12:35 a.m. two unknown suspects accessed the property by cutting the gate chain and then pushed the log splitter to an awaiting vehicle. The stolen Wallenstein splitter, Model WE230 is black and blue and valued at $2,300.
