Jennifer Moore ( née Johnston), who starred for the basketball team from 1994 to 1999 and Hubert ( Socke) MacDonald, who was a defensive star for the football team from 1975 to 1980, will be inducted into the UPEI Sports Hall of Fame.

Academic all- Canadians from 2011- 12 and athletic awards and scholarship winners will be also be announced during the UPEI Sport Legacy Dinner at the W. A. Murphy Student Centre’s McMillan Hall.

There are 57 all- Canadians, an all- time high for the university, surpassing the previous high of 56.

The figure represents more than 30 per cent of the athletes at UPEI.

Moore is one of only three female basketball Panthers to be named a conference MVP. The others are Paula Edwards and Janet Nichols. Johnston was a three- time conference all- star, and in 1998- 99 was named a secondteam all- Canadian. She played a key role in the Panthers winning the conference championship in 1997- 98.

MacDonald won awards each of his five years as a Panther, including rookie of the year, all- conference defensive back for three consecutive years and the university’s male athlete of the year in 1979- 80.

After tonight the hall will include seven teams and 31 individuals.
