Concert Saturday evening to help Kilmuir man

Everyone is welcome to attend a benefit for Harry ( Buddy) Loane of Kilmuir, Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Murray River Hall, starting at 7 p. m.

Loane is presently in Ontario at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre for a consultati­on, testing and hopefully treatment plan for a tumour on the optic nerve. He has friends across Atlantic Canada through the 4- H program, as a director of the Dundas Ploughing Match and the P. E. I. Cattleman’s Associatio­n and with many other distinguis­hed positions in the farming industry.

Many entertaine­rs have stepped up to take part in the benefit, including Garnet Buell and the Singing Islanders ( Donald MacKenzie, Glenda Johnston and Jim Madsen), Charlie Hansen and Simply Acoustics ( Glenda Johnston and Trudy McAskill), Kim Albert, Neil Mathews, the Bernard Family ( Vanessa, Jackie and Sheila), Mary Lou MacLure and Roy MacDonald, Harold Green, the MacDonald Sisters ( Marie and Doris), Garth Gillis and Donnie MacDonald and Marie MacIntyre, They will guarantee an evening with great songs, dancing and instrument­als.

Admission $ 5 each, and donations are more than welcome. The evening also includes lunch, a 50/ 50 draw and door prizes along with a live auction. Food donations for the lunch ( peanut butter- and nut- free, please) and donations toward the auction will be appreciate­d. All revenue for the event will be for travel and treatment expenses.
