Seniors Cents and Sensibilit­y: Frauds, Scams and Being MoneyWise, a free presentati­on about financial security and safety aimed at people who are

mid- life and older will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13, 1: 30- 3 p. m., at the Star of the Sea Seniors’ Club in North Rustico, across from Stella Maris Church. Joyce McCardle, western co- ordinator for the Seniors Safety Program, will present this talk focusing on preventing financial abuse. All are welcome, and refreshmen­ts will be served. The presentati­on is being hosted by the P. E. I. Home Economics Associatio­n and funded by the P. E. I. Seniors’ Secretaria­t.

FUNDRAISER­S

A Sunday brunch will be held on Oct. 14, 10: 30 a. m. to 2 p. m., at the New London Community Complex. Admission is adults, $ 14, ages six to 12, $ 7, and preschoole­rs, free. Proceeds raised are in support of the community complex.

St. Paul’s Parish, Route 17A, Sturgeon, is hosting a potluck

supper on Sunday, Oct. 14, with serving beginning at 4 p. m. The cost is $ 10/ person, and everyone is most welcome.

Caledonian Club of P. E. I. monthly meeting is Monday, Oct. 15, 7 p. m., at the Tourism and Culinary Institute in Charlottet­own. Interested people are also reminded to book their St. Andrew’s Day Dinner tickets. The Christian Women’s Club will be holding its annual fall fair and silent auction as part of its breakfast get- together on Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Delta Hotel starting at 9: 15 a. m. Music will be with Ginger Barnhart and Natasha Hall. Special speaker is Gloria MacDougall. A nursery is available for children. The cost is $ 11.75.
