Kings top the Falcons in midget AAA action

The Kings County Kings scored two goals per period and tallied a 6- 4 win over the Sherwood Drug Mart Falcons in P. E. I. Midget AAA Hockey League action Thursday at Cody Banks Arena.

Tyler Rose ( 2- 1), Ben Lannigan ( 1- 2), Keirsten Steele, Zach Monroe and Kenny McKinnon accounted for the steady Kings County scoring.

Spencer Ross ( 2) and Colby Mooney added assists.

Tanner McLean ( 1- 1), Riley Thomson ( 1- 1), Tanner Lund and Brady Sinnot had the Falcons scores. Will Poirier, Lucas Holmes, Brodie Watts and Jacob MacLean each earned a single assist.

Kings County goalie Nolan Compton registered the win, while Jeremy Ramsay took the loss in goal for Sherwood.

The Kings were 3- for- 7 on the power play. Sherwood went 1- for- 4 with the extra man.

BORDEN- CARLETON — The Charlottet­own Abbies handed the Summerside Capitals a 5- 2 loss in a P. E. I. Midget AAA Hockey League game here at the Gateway Arena on Wednesday night.

Five different players — Nick MacDonald ( 1- 1), Seb Burns ( 1- 1), Mark MacMillan, James Lantz and Quinton Gorman — scored for the Abbies. Jackson Donovan ( 2), Josh Scott ( 2) and Jacob Kays added assists.

For the Caps, Kolton Stright and Jesse MacFarlane found the back of the net. Brittan Turner, Chasse Gallant and Brandon Adams added single helpers.

The Abbies held period leads of 1- 0 and 3- 2.

Winning goaltender was Alex Dunne.

In midget AAA action today, Charlottet­own hosts Sherwood at 1: 30 p. m.
