Chef Corbin Tomaszeski returns to the Acadian Feast

ABRAM-VILLAGE — For the fifth year, the Agricultur­al Exhibition and Acadian Festival present its Festin acadien avec homard, a preevent of the Fall Flavours Festival which will showcase the authentic Island flavours and traditions of P.E.I. throughout the month of September.

Again this year, the feast will offer a delicious meal, abound in Acadian hospitalit­y and provide attendees with the opportunit­y to meet Corbin Tomaszeski, a Food Network chef and host of Dinner Party Wars, Restaurant Makeover and Restaurant Takeover. Tomaszeski was present during the 2011 edition and he says he is happy to be back as he enjoyed himself so much during this great Acadian culinary party.

At this hearty meal, a special culinary and cultural event to be held on Friday, Aug. 29, at 5 p.m. at the Acadian Musical Village (ExpoFestiv­al Centre) in AbramVilla­ge, guests will enjoy homemade vegetable soup, rapure, meat pie, potato salad, lobster and a delightful blueberry cake for dessert. Also, participan­ts will be entertaine­d by talented local musicians, Nick Arsenault, Samantha Arsenault, Hélène Bergeron and Jeannita Bernard as well as a group of young step dancers, Les Étoiles de l’Acadie.

The meal, served familystyl­e, will be offered in a relaxed atmosphere, where food will be brought to the tables on trays to be passed around. The waiters and waitresses will be dressed in traditiona­l Acadian costumes and the room will be decorated in the Acadian colours.

“This Acadian feast is very appreciate­d by all,” says Eric Richard, president. “Every year, people keep telling us how much they love this great party. Do not wait to buy your ticket to make sure you have a seat at this grand feast.”
