Midfielder commits to Hurricanes
Fraser is attending high school in Nova Scotia
The Holland College Hurricanes have added a midfielder from Nova Scotia to its roster for the 2016 women’s soccer season. T-Anna Fraser is a Grade 12 student at Northumberland Regional High School in Pictou County. She has been recognized as the school team’s MVP.
“The women’s soccer program has a strong reputation and I am looking forward to working hard in every practice and game for the team,” Fraser said.
She has developed her game as a player with Team Nova Scotia and Team Atlantic as well as playing for X F.C.
A natural playmaker with excellent field vision, her previous coach said she has the potential to be one of the top players in the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association.
“A skilled player with this level of experience can have a strong impact in the midfield for our team,” said ‘Canes head coach Kris McKinnon. “We are excited about adding T-Anna to our squad.”
Fraser also brings a wealth of high-calibre experience having played against top competition in Ontario, Europe and the United States, including the Disney showcase tournament.
Fraser said she was impressed with the sense of family when visiting the campus and is looking forward to studying in the human services program.
“I appreciated the campus feel and class size,” she said. “Everybody was very welcoming.”
