First-time winner
Jordan Cameron, left, defeated Yu Chen 21-14 and 21-16 in the men’s final of the Prince County senior badminton tournament recently in Summerside. It was Cameron’s first men’s singles title. Cameron also teamed with Emma Hughes to win the mixed doubles division. Chen and Kevin Yan downed Cameron and Adam MacKinnon 21-19 and 2624 in the men’s doubles final. Nathalie Lefrancois went 2-0 to win the crown in the round-robin format women’s singles championship, while the mother-daughter duo of Pauline and Keirstyn Hamlin defeated Lefrancois and Emma Hughes 21-19 and 21-11 for the women’s doubles title. The next senior tournament is Sunday, March 6, at Birchwood Junior High.
