Program
The P.E.I. Association for Newcomers to Canada and Family Service P.E.I. are partnering on a skills-based learning course for newcomers and established Islanders 50 years and older to improve their financial literacy. This 10-week program, being held at the P.E.I. ANC office, 49 Water St., is Wednesdays, beginning Feb. 3, 6:30-8:30 p.m. It will cover topics such as budgeting and basic money management, strategies to track spending, planning for the future, lending and donating, safeguarding against scams, frauds and financial abuse and setting financial goals. Celebration
Come to celebrate la chandeleur, a francophone Acadian tradition, at the Centre acadien Grand-Rustico on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 5-7 p.m. A supper with pancakes and sausages will be offered for $5, and Georges Arsenault will introduce those who attend to this tradition.
