Close to the Ground series continues Thursday

The Close to the Ground concert series at Kaylee Hall, Pooles Corner continues Thursday, July 14, 8 p.m.

This week, hosts Fiddlers’ Sons and Keelin Wedge welcome special guests Kelley Mooney and Johnny Ross.

An award-winning singersong­writer, Mooney is one of the Island’s busiest performers.

She makes many solo appearance­s at concerts and ceilidhs and can be heard playing as part of the popular groups Watertown and Lady Soul.

Her spiritual lyrical adaptation of Leonard Cohen’s song, “Hallelujah”, has been viewed over eight million times online.

She has also released two albums, “Tomorrow” and “Still”, that have garnered multiple Music P.E.I. and ECMA nomination­s and awards.

Mooney will be stage at the Kaylee Hall by Ross, who is also known as the piano man.

He is a sought-after side man and can be heard alongside several Island singers and as part of The Fallback Dance Band.

He has added his musiciansh­ip to many awardwinni­ng recordings, including albums from bands Haunted Hearts and The Ross Family Band.

His recent solo instrument­al CD, “Keys To The Show”, was a Music P.E.I. nominee.

The air-conditione­d Kaylee Hall is located at the intersecti­on of Routes 3 and 4 near Montague.

There will be a 50/50 draw and canteen service available.

There will also be CDs available for sale from the performers.

Admission is at the door. Piano man Johnny Ross, pictured here with his sister, Stephanie, will be special guest of hosts Fiddlers’ Sons and Keelin Wedge July 14 as the Close to the Ground concert series continues at the Kaylee Hall. Singer-songwriter Kelley Mooney will also perform as part of the show.
