Twinkle twinkle little star, My loving mother is what you are. On July 23,2015 Francis passed peacefully at Souris Hospital, surrounded by his special friend, Sylvia ( MacLean) as well as close family. Francis was born on Nov 20, 1921, son of the late Alfred and Florence Rose. He married Frances (Cheverie) on Sept 11, 1946 and together they raised eight children in their Lakeville home where he remained until his passing. Our father had great love for his community and for his church. He will be remembered for his big heart and ability to live life to its fullest, focusing on the important things. He liked nothing better than spending time with family and sharing a laugh. One always knew when a story was coming by the twinkle in his eye. He welcomed company and his door was always open to visitors. He loved his frequent visits from his brother Dan (Rose), and the many card games they shared. He was predeceased by his wife Frances, and their son Bernard. Still mourning are his 23 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. Rememered by brother Dan Rose, sisters Florence MacDoald and Theresa Dugan, sisters in law Phyllis Rose, Cleo Rose, as well as Marie and Reg MacDonald. A heartfelt thank you to Sylvia MacLean for the care and devotion shown to Dad over the years. Our families are grateful for all the love you’ve shown him, as well as all of us. Please know it will never be forgotten. The largely attended funeral took place at St. Columba Roman Catholic Church, Fairfield. Mass was celebrated by Fr. Jim and Fr. Raju and interment was in the St. Columba cemetery. Dad, you are forever in our hearts. Please watch over us as we go about our daily lives until we meet again.
