The funeral for Gary J. Campbell was held on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, from Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home to St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Sturgeon, where the funeral mass was celebrated by Fr. Gerard Chaisson. Placing of the funeral pall was done by Sunday Campbell, Stacey Campbell, Neil Campbell and Paulette MacWilliam­s. Readings were proclaimed by Dorothy MacDonald and J.W. (Bill) Campbell. Prayers of Intercessi­on were offered by J.W. (Bill) Campbell. The pianist was Justin Simard. The entrance hymn was Blest Are They; the psalm was The Lord Is My Shepherd; offertory hymn, Hail Mary Gentle Woman, was sung by Leith and Evy Lou McCarron; communion hymn, Come To The Water, was sung by Leith and Evy Lou McCarron; incensing, Songs of the Angels; and the recessiona­l hymn was Amazing Grace. Eucharisti­c minister was Phyllis Steele. The altar servers were Bernard Farrell, Greg Farrell, Gerard Landrigan and Frank Senechal. The pallbearer­s were Roy Campbell, David MacKenzie, Daniel Wood, Terry MacDonald, Ryan McKinnon and Chris MacWilliam­s. The flowerbear­ers were Aiden Benoit, Greg Benoit, Taylor Benoit and Daniel Benoit. The honorary pallbearer­s were Bill Peardon, Jr. Condon, Gary Riemersma, Patrick O’Conner and Kenneth Madore. Among those attending the funeral mass were staff of Chester’s Barber Shop and Laurie’s Beauty Salon, Precision Mechanical and Local 721. The committal service took place in St. Paul’s Parish Cemetery.
