Kelley Mooney performs at Sunday Night Hoedown

The Sunday Night Hoedown continues Aug. 28, 7:30 p.m., at The Centre Stage, 14 Hebrew Ave., Souris Presented by Souris Live Inc., the series continues until Sept. 4.

Now running for its third consecutiv­e summer, this upbeat music event has been well received by locals and visitors.

The weekly show is hosted by Peggy Clinton, Johnny Ross and Keelin Wedge with a different special guest featured each night. For more informatio­n, visit www.sourislive­inc.com or call 902-327-0555. Tickets are $12 and available at the door or online. All ages are welcome.

On Aug. 28, the group will welcome special guest Kelley Mooney. One of the most recognizab­le names in the Island music industry, Mooney has recorded and released several albums over her music career, most recently “Still” a compilatio­n of both original and secular Christian Music.

“I’m so excited to finally get to share the stage with Kelley Mooney. We have chatted many times about doing something together but with both our busy schedules...things never worked out...until now!” Clinton says, who was the 2015, Music P.E.I. Weekend Warrior award-winner.

Ross is known for energetic performanc­es during which he plays piano with both fingers and feet. He was nominated for musician of the year at the 2016 Music P.E.I. Awards and, in 2015 he released his debut CD, “Keys to the Show”.

Wedge is a versatile musician who excels at playing both guitar and fiddle. The combinatio­n of her instrument­al prowess and strong vocals has earned her a reputation as a crowd pleaser.
