-

This week’s edition of Sunday Night Shenanigans will welcome Kevin Beanland back to the stage.

Hosted by Judy MacLean, the show starts at 7 p.m. at the York Community Centre.

A popular performer, Beanland hails from Flat Bay, NL, but he also claims roots in P.E.I. His mother lived in Chepstow before marrying and later moved to Newfoundland.

Beanland plays many instruments and has more than 20 CDs to his credit, with “The Best of Kevin Beanland” soon to be released. He is known also as “the Flying Fiddler”, a name he earned for entertaining the passengers and crew onboard Air Canada during his flights.

At a recent appearance at Sunday Night Shenanigans, he introduced a little dog named Ginger Snap that he brought onstage during his performance.

He has trained the pup to yodel while he plays a lively tune on his fiddle and thus sparked the idea of making a video for You Tube which now has two million hits for the duo’s fun performance called “Yodelling at the Moon”.

Joining Beanland is Hayden Judy MacLean will welcome Hayden Stover and Kevin Beanland to the Aug. 28 edition of Sunday Night Shenanigans at the York Community Centre. Also set to perform is Alice Cheverie, a step dancer and longtime member of the Judy MacLean Dancers.

For those who enjoy contemporary music, Olivia Barnes will sing some of her favourite numbers, accompanied by her father, guitarist Tom Barnes. A member of Confederation Players, she is performing this summer with the group.
