Courtney Arsenault charged jointly with husband Richard Joseph Arsenault for possessing stolen property.

The wife of a man who is facing 18 charges related to break and enters in what police dubbed the “screencutter” case has been charged with possession of stolen property.

Courtney Arsenault was charged jointly with Richard Joseph Arsenault for possession of stolen property over $5,000.

She was released on an undertaking.

Meanwhile, her husband was back before a justice of the peace in Charlottetown Tuesday for a show cause hearing where his lawyer tried to get a no-contact order with his wife removed.

The hearing was adjourned until today when the justice of the peace is expected to rule on the matter.

Last month the RCMP and Charlottetown police announced they arrested Richard Arsenault for his alleged involvement in numerous break and enters in the Charlottetown area.

Queens District RCMP and Charlottetown police formed a joint task force to investigate the home invasions that took place over a period of several months starting in 2015.

During Richard Arsenault’s first show cause hearing a few days after his arrest, Crown attorney Valerie Moore asked for the no-contact order.

The charges against him include break and entering, possessing break-in tools, wearing a mask in the commission of an offence and prowling.

He has consented to remain in custody until his matters are dealt with before the court.
