The funeral for Angus Joseph Campbell was held on Aug. 24, 2016, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Souris. The funeral mass was celebrated by Fr. Raju Chebattina who also proclaimed the gospel and delivered the homily. The first reading, Daniel 12:13, was read by his sister, Reta MacDonald. The second reading, 1 John 3:1-2, was read by his sister, Anne Campbell. Prayers of the faithful were led by niece, Alana Legere. Everyone in attendance was considered an honorary pallbearer. Pallbearer­s were Donnie Campbell, Bobby Duffy, Andrew Legere, Dougie Mitchell, Terry Myers and Arthur Stewart. Altar servers were Terry Carter Jimmy MacDonald, Frankie McIntosh and Justin McKinnon. Music was provided by the church choir with organist Bill Matthews. Hymns were: Entrance, This Day God Gives Me; offertory, Only A Shadow; communion, Gift of Finest Wheat; and recessiona­l, Faith of Our Fathers. Interment was made in the St Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery with the committal service conducted by Fr. Raju Chebattina.
