Wednesday, July 5, as the deadline to register for the Seniors Active Living Centre’s trip to Harbourfront Theatre in Summerside on July 11 to see Lenny Gallant’s “Searching for Abegweit”. There are 26 spaces available on two vans, which will leave from Oak Tree at 5:45 p.m. (return 10:45 p.m.) and the SALC at UPEI, 6 p.m. (return at 10:30 p.m). The cost is $30. Call 902-628-8388.
Wednesday, July 12, 4-6:30 p.m., for Winsloe United Church’s strawberry and ice cream social. Sandwiches and sweets will be served. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under and no charge for preschoolers. For tickets, contact Faye at 902-368-1175 after 5:30 p.m.
Thursday, July 13, 6-8 p.m., for Canoe Cove School’s annual strawberry social. Come meet neighbors and enjoy the Island’s finest berries of the summer. All proceeds go toward the maintenance of the historic schoolhouse and for community events.
Saturday, July 15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a giant church yard sale is at Central Queens United Church, Hunter River.
Saturday, July 15, for annual Kelly’s Cross Tea Party and dance. There will be games, canteen service and meals served as well as a cake auction and free, outdoor live entertainment. In the evening, the dance will feature Party Mix with Brad Trivers.
