‘A P.E.I. Musical Adventure’ on stage in Richmond
A distinctively different musical presentation on P.E.I. for 2017 has been created by Cecelia Bell and Lynne Provance to share songs, original musical compositions and theatrics.
“A P.E.I. Musical Adventure” performances are scheduled for Tuesdays beginning at 7:30 p.m., at the MacKinnon Homestead at 31228 Western Road (Route 2), Richmond, July 4 and 25, Aug. 15 and Sept. 5. On the alternate Tuesday nights through to Oct. 3 at 7:30 p.m., enjoy a Scottish ceilidh with Bell.

Bell has a long history of keeping Scottish music alive. She and her family have won numerous awards over the years, including the Governor General’s Canadian Caring Award, the Sovereign’s Medal, and most recently the P.E.I. Caledonia Award for preserving Scottish culture. She has performed throughout Cape Breton, P.E.I., Ontario, and New Brunswick in a variety of festivals and venues. Not only does she perform on the bagpipes, piano, fiddle, accordion, and guitar, but also sings, and composes. She currently teaches piano, fiddling, bagpipes, guitar, and accordion in Richmond.
Provance has a long history as a church and theatre music director, performing arts teacher both for public and private schools and privately, composer, professional singer, pianist, guitarist, play-writer, actor, poet and artistic director of a performing arts company. She has received several awards for her abilities and dedication to the performing arts over the years. She has composed songs and poetry about some of the more unusual P.E.I. history and has performed them over the past several years while summering in P.E.I. She winters in Farmington, Ohio.
