The Ocean View Resort and Golf is taking another step forward.

The multi-million dollar project’s proponent, Sean Liu, has awarded a contract to Curran and Briggs Ltd. to connect the main resort building to the city’s water and sewer supply.

Work recently got underway.

A spokeswoman for Liu indicated that once the property is hooked into the city’s water and sewer, work on the inside of the building can begin. Significant work to the exterior has already been completed.

This marks the first work at the resort in many months as Liu and his contractors have been focusing their effort on his second major investment in the area, the former Summerside Golf and Country Club. Liu purchased the golf course, in part with a $900,000 loan guarantee from the City of Summerside, in 2016.

The resort (formerly known as the Dynasty Spa and briefly as the Prince Alex Resort) and golf course adjoin, and Liu had planned to make them part of the same complex. Renovation work for the golf course and its clubhouse and restaurant has been ongoing for more than a year but is mostly completed, for now.
