WINDSOR Andrew Gilbert

-

Andrew Gilbert Windsor, beloved husband of 32 years to Cynthia, beloved Dad to Tobias and Breanna, Shawn and Christine and Sharilyn and Duncan, proud and loving “Bubba” to Nikki, Ashley, Jason, Charlotte and Emelia, and adopted son of Joan and Franklin Windsor of Ottawa, died suddenly from natural causes with his wife in his home in Pownal, P.E.I. on Sunday, June 25, 2017. Andrew was a man full of spirit, love and commentary. He took care of and loved his family, most of all his Cynthia. He will be greatly missed, and will live on with us as we remember and retell all of the moments and stories of a truly remarkable friend, father and husband who meant so much to so many people. Andrew built his home and roots for his family in Ottawa but really found himself in his last years as an Islander. Here with Cynthia, he made friends and connected with family. He worked with care restoring their family’s homestead in Pownal until his very last minutes. As he is laid to rest here, he will join a lineage of family past who we know will welcome him. We find great comfort in that. Tonight as we type this looking out at the stars over Pownal Bay as he so loved to do, we realize that no matter where we are in the world we can look up at those same stars and find him looking down on us. The struggle is over now Dad, relax and watch the show! We hope we all continue to make you proud (and laugh).

Until we see you again Andy, you are in our hearts. Arrangements entrusted to MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel. Online condolences may be made at www.macleanfh.com.
