The funeral for Wilbur Henry Cameron of Kinkora, husband of Bernice (Connick) Cameron, was held on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 where funeral mass was celebrated at St. Malachy’s Church, Kinkora at 10 a.m. The funeral mass was celebrated by brother-in-law, Fr. Joe Connick who delivered the homily and proclaimed the gospel. Con-celebrants were Fr. Doug MacDonald and Fr. Eric Dunn. The pall was placed on the casket by wife, Bernice Cameron and daughter Lorna Webster. Altar servers were Peter Roberts, Frank McCardle and Karen McKenna. The first reading was proclaimed by grandson, Connor Cameron and the second reading by grandson, Cameron Webster. Prayers of the faithful were led by grandson, Craig Cameron. Combined choirs of St. Malachy’s and St. Peter’s sang the following hymns: Here I Am Lord, To You Oh Lord I Lift My Soul, How Great Thou Art, In His Time and Be Not Afraid. Footprints In the Sand, a CD selection was played as a communion meditation. Organist was Joan Gauvin. Eucharisti­c ministers were Rachel Cameron and Karen Cameron. Ushers were Leonard Keefe and Eldon Murphy. Pall bearers were Wilbur’s sons, Brian, David, Michael, Rick, Charlie and son-in-law, Bertie Webster. Honorary pall bearers were all attending the funeral. Attending the funeral were members of Maple Leaf Seniors, Staff of Belfast Consolidat­ed School, Teaching staff of Summerside Intermedia­te School, Hon. Michele Murphy, Accountant­s of A.B.C.E. and Senator, Catherine Callbeck. Interment was in the parish cemetery with Fr. Joe Connick officiatin­g.
