Dancing the night away

Phase II will again play for a dance at the Hillsborough Park Community Centre on Patterson Drive in Charlottetown tonight.

“This began back in January when a few ladies in the community were looking for a place to relax and enjoy some great music on a Friday night,” says Gerry Hickey, lead vocalist for Phase II.

The monthly dance is not restricted to residents of the community of Hillsborough Park, but is open to anyone over 19 who likes to dance or simply listen to great tunes from the 1950s and ’60’s up to today.

“Our band believes that you may not be able to please everyone, but you can come awfully close,” says Hickey.

There is also a 50/50 draw. Doors open at 7:15 p.m., and the music starts at 9 p.m., continuing until midnight.
