Garden party to benefit Autism P.E.I.

-

The award-winning garden of Norman and Phyllis Hall will be open to visitors during the World Trotting Conference this week.

Beginning this afternoon and running over the next three days, people are invited to visit this Charlottetown property that was chosen as best flower garden in last year’s Communities In Bloom contest. The garden is located at 132 Upper Prince St. and will be in full bloom again.

Autism P.E.I. will be the beneficiary of any free-will donations at the garden gate. The gardens will be open each day, 2-6 p.m. The public and especially those in the racing community and supporters of Autism P.E.I. are welcome to visit.

Norman Hall is a long-time member of the Island horse racing community and supporter of Autism P.E.I.

“It is nice to be able to share our garden with the WTC delegates and their partners from around the world and at the same time give them a chance to meet and mingle with Islanders as well as provide much-needed financial support for the growing number of children afflicted with autism spectrum disorders,” he said.

Natalie Walsh, executive director for Autism P.E.I., is also excited about the event.

“The idea of a garden party fundraiser is a lovely idea, and we are pleased to be part of it – it sounds like fun.”

Donations to Autism P.E.I. can also be made online through Canada Helps on the website at http://www.autismsociety.pe.ca/ and an online capability will be provided in the garden each day.
