Two-vehicle collision closes highway

Injuries were minor in a twovehicle collision that closed Highway 2 in Richmond for close to two hours late Friday afternoon.

An RCMP spokesman said one of the vehicles crossed the centre line and collided with the other shortly before 4 p.m. One of the vehicles was towing a camper.

The highway was closed while emergency personnel examined the passengers and cleared the vehicles.

The driver of one of the vehicles was taken to hospital to have his injuries assessed and treated. He was subsequent­ly released. The occupants of the second vehicle did not require medical assistance.

At least one of the vehicles had to be towed from the scene. Extent of the damages was not immediatel­y known.
